Uluslararası Göç, Kalkınma ve Organizasyon Derneği (IMDO) Başkanı Fethi Ahmet Gel, Birleşmiş Milletler Kalkınma Programı (UNDP) Türkiye Mukim Temsilcisi Sayın Monica Merino Dominguez ve Avrupa Birliği Türkiye Delegasyonu İş Birliği Bölüm Başkanı Sayın Maria Luisa Wyganowski ile görüşmeler gerçekleştirdi.
IMDO Başkanı Fethi Ahmet Gel, Avrupa Birliği tarafından finanse edilen Sivil Katılım Projesi kapsamında, Elazığ Belediyesi’nin ev sahipliğinde düzenlenen Elazığ Sivil Katılım Zirvesi’ne katıldı.
Zirve; Türkiye Belediyeler Birliği, T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı Avrupa Birliği ve Dış İlişkiler Dairesi Başkanlığı, Avrupa Birliği Türkiye Delegasyonu ve Birleşmiş Milletler Kalkınma Programı (UNDP) temsilcilerinin üst düzey katılımlarıyla gerçekleştirildi.
Etkinlik kapsamında Fethi Ahmet Gel, Birleşmiş Milletler Kalkınma Programı (UNDP) Türkiye Mukim Temsilcisi Monica Merino Dominguez ve Avrupa Birliği Türkiye Delegasyonu İş Birliği Bölüm Başkanı Maria Luisa Wyganowski ile bir araya gelerek göç, kalkınma, istihdam, girişimcilik ve sosyal uyum alanlarında olası iş birliği fırsatları üzerine görüş alışverişinde bulundu.
Görüşmelerde, mülteciler, sığınmacılar ve göçmen toplulukların ekonomik ve sosyal hayata entegrasyonunu destekleyecek projeler, yerel kalkınma girişimleri ve uluslararası ortaklık imkanları değerlendirildi. Ayrıca sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedefleri doğrultusunda kamu kurumları, yerel yönetimler, uluslararası kuruluşlar ve sivil toplum arasındaki iş birliğinin güçlendirilmesinin önemi vurgulandı.

IMDO President Fethi Ahmet Gel Meets with UNDP and European Union Representatives in Türkiye
IMDO President Fethi Ahmet Gel participated in the Elazığ Civil Participation Summit, organized within the framework of the European Union-funded Civil Participation Project and hosted by the Municipality of Elazığ.
The summit brought together senior representatives from the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, the Directorate for European Union Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
During the event, Fethi Ahmet Gel met with Ms. Monica Merino Dominguez, Resident Representative of UNDP in Türkiye, and Ms. Maria Luisa Wyganowski, Head of the Cooperation Section at the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, to exchange views on potential cooperation opportunities in the fields of migration, development, employment, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion.
The discussions focused on projects aimed at supporting the economic and social integration of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrant communities, as well as local development initiatives and international partnership opportunities. The participants also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among public institutions, local authorities, international organizations, and civil society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
